Property planning

Strategy before transaction.

Start with what you want your next move to achieve, then assess the property against that plan.

By Raymond Ang

Before an aircraft was cleared for flight, each critical check had to pass. That discipline shapes how I approach property: examine what matters, identify the risks and verify the assumptions before making a recommendation.

A property plan starts with the outcome. More space, a change of location, a simpler lifestyle or a different investment approach may lead to very different shortlists. Knowing the goal helps you decide what deserves your attention.

Assess the property and the next move together. A home can fit your immediate needs while creating trade-offs for later. Understanding those trade-offs is more useful than treating a purchase as a standalone transaction.

A clear plan does not remove every uncertainty. It gives you a reason for each decision, a way to compare alternatives and a basis for reviewing the plan when life changes.

Apply this to your next move.
